Global Rope NAWA Plaza　Chronos

Global Rope/ NAWA Plaza 1991 ~ 2007.
In 1995, This area was struck by the Hanshin Great Earthquake.
However, Global Rope NAWA Plaza continues to contribute
Peace and Tranquility with a water stream.

People have now appreciated its giving and serene stream for 16 years.

In 2008, Chronos appeared in the plaza.

The Senri-Chuo Station development area including the "Global rope plaza" scene work of art which is an urban park with trees, fountains and waterfalls. At various points throughout the
plaza, a thick rope can be seen rising out of the ground and then plunging back, as if sewn through the landscape,was transferred and sold the space to companies because of a financial difficulty of Osaka gavermnet and the design plan of a new plaza chosen by renewal design competition was a design including a clock tower monument in the renewal plaza . However, there is the process that was engaged earnestly in by clock tower plan to ask me for production because the person in charge of Takenaka designer and the cause Senri center fielder who managed "global rope plaza" Foundation leaves the memory of "global rope plaza" that people has been loved.
When Senri stratum formation story "global rope plaza" was removed and distorted, I reserved the piece of "global rope plaza". I used part of piece and produced an incarnation in
Cronus / which conveyed a change of the working of the earth as Senri stratum formation story sequel.
These were narrative, poetic, educational and expressive landscapes incorporating elements of plaza.

The public art is not just an ornament for city, is a lifeline for people same as water & food. One of the public art-the “ artscape” contributes nutrients of spirits with joy.
I try to create an unique environmental “ artscape” that engenders a dynamic network of cooperation through respecting people and always trying to understand the local culture and environment. The “ artscape” should have organic system and inspire dynamics of human behavior.
The “ artscape”, which has mysterious beauty and wonder, could contribute to come up with the source of life, energy for people spiritually. Because people are cheered up with trembling with joy when they touch mysterious and beautiful wonder. This is an interactive relation between the “ artscape” and people. The “ artscape” is made with organic recycle materials and also represents a message for consideration about the sustainable environment in this cosmos. That is the reason why I say the “ artscape” is narrative, poetic, educational and expressive landscapes.
Therefore the concept of the “ artscape” could be called “ Cosmoscape” as one of social environmental art.
