In the heart of Venice, a verdant path leads to the Palazzo Franchetti courtyard.
Amidst the historic buildings and inumbrating trees, stands the NAWA Shrine.
The spiraling sculpture, entitled “The Traveling Isolation of MAIMAI”, is a hollow coiling space that beckons the deities of the natural surround to enter within.
NAWA Shrine 2015 is dedicated to a sustainable global future.
NA means You and WA means I.
NAWA is also a rope to demarcate sacred space,
NAWA thus signifies our creative interaction,
to achieve interconnectedness, unity and peace.
Entering into the NAWA Shrine, where Emptiness is complete,
each individual is awakened to the symbiotic exquisiteness of all Life.
The Forest, layered with newspapers in languages from around the world,
represents Oneness born from Diversity.
Re-cycled to create a hollow coiling space “The Traveling Isolation of MAIMAI”, invites
a sensorial symbolic journey from the Earth's inner core to the spiraling galaxies beyond.
